"Monks, long ago there was a king named Brahmadatta who ruled in Benares. At that time, a daughter of a family in a certain colony fixed a date to give shelter to a son in Varanasi. The people of Varanasi went to meet their beloved Ajivaka.
“Swami… today our son is taking a girl out of the house from Varanasi. It needs good auspiciousness..."

"They have arranged their dates as they want and now they are coming here to ask for auspiciousness to go to the girl Kandan. I will give them a good auspicious sign..." he said.
