46. Aramadusaka Jatakaya

In those days, when the Blessed One was growing up in Kosol Colony, he lived in a certain village. A chief of that village invited the Blessed One and sat down in his garden and offered alms to the great assembly led by the Buddha. Then he said to the monks :

"Lord, you may walk freely in this garden. "

The monks got up and looked at the trees in the garden. Seeing a yard without trees, the monks asked him about it.

“Worshipper… everywhere else in this garden there are good song shadows. There are only hands, no trees or anything....?”

"O Lord... this is the time when trees are planted in the garden. I hired a village boy. I took a good look at that boy and told him to stand and water the trees. Then this young man looks at the roots of the planted plants. Looked and started pouring water. So all those plants died. That's why it was like a yard there..."

Then the monks visited the Blessed One and told him this matter.

"Brother... that village child destroyed the garden not only in this spirit. Earlier, a spirit also destroyed a garden..." said the hidden story.

"Venerable monks, once upon a time there was a king named Brahmadatta who ruled the city of Varanasi. One day the auspicious time was announced in Varanasi. At that auspicious time the drums are played. Sak blows. Bells are ringing. Then the townspeople go here and there for festivals. Aramadusaka Jataka. Aramadusaka Jataka

In those days there were many monkeys in the king's garden. The gardener thought like this.

It's like receiving a fortune. You can hear the sound of drums everywhere... even if it's good, I have to go,' he called to the main monkey in the garden.

“Dude…. Monkey leader…. This garden is also generous to you... You don't eat flowers and leaves here. Did you hear the big drum sound? Received the auspicious...! The fun in the city has started... I want to go there too... So, until I come, can you water the newly planted plants in the garden...? "

“Yes… yes… I will water…. ” replied the leader monkey .  Then the gardener gave the monkey the pots to pour water and water bottles to bring water. Then all the monkeys joined the coffin . They brought water from the water table and started pouring it on the plants. The leader monkey said :

“And… and…. Waiting...! Don't waste water...! Make sure you remove the plants first and wet the roots.... It is enough to add a little more water to the plants whose roots have gone deep..."

Then a wise man was passing by. He saw monkeys watering the plants.

“Oh monkey…. Why is this Yasa planting water at the roots of the plants....?"

"This is what our leader monkey advised us..." replied the monkeys. On hearing that, he said this stanza, "O ignorant people who do good but do evil."

“Work by dedication is done by the fool

Nithin destroys the things that bring happiness and healing

If you go to work, this is from the fool

He will get like the garden destroyed by the monkey.

Thus, monks, the wise man laughed at the foolishness of the leader monkey and left. The same person who was the leader monkey then and plucked the plants in the garden, became a villager today and did the same thing. "I was the wise man that day," said this native.
